eventeemer of the month – Hayley Whitaker

28 Feb

As a national, promotional staffing agency we understand the importance of recruiting only the top staff in the industry. With offices in Cardiff, London and Manchester we have a vast network of experienced and dedicated brand ambassadors. Our staff are the beating heart of our agency and we like to recognise all the hard work and commitment they show not only to us but to our clients.

Every month we like to recognise a particular member of staff who stands out; someone who has really gone above and beyond and made a lasting impression on our clients. So, meet Hayley…

Hayley Whitaker

Hayley began working in promotions in 2013 and had 5 years of experience when joining us at eventeem. Hayley joined us in September 2018 and got off to flying start working with brands as an event staff member, a brand ambassador and is now part of one of our core automotive event staff teams.

Hayley has delivered exceptional service and has maintained a professional and well organised attitude when working with some of our top clients. She has made a fine impression on a client recently and is a credit to our team so we wanted to speak to Hayley and put some questions to her!

Role: Brand Ambassador/ Team Leader/ Event staff

Nearest city: Manchester

Chosen for: Being the perfect brand ambassador; she embodies the brand and goes above and beyond whilst on a campaign.

Tell me something different about yourself.

I’m actually an identical twin and once, me and my sister worked a campaign together where we had to give out leaflets. People were really confused and kept saying ‘you’ve just given one of these to me!’ We learnt from this and ended up working the crowd from different ends of the stadium when we worked at the football.

What is your background?

I worked part time in promotions whilst I was working full time in payroll and I decided that I wanted to do it full time as it’s a great way to meet new people, gain confidence and work with some fun brands.

What do you like getting up to in your spare time?

Most people wouldn’t realise this about me, but I invest in the stock market! Some of the companies I have bought shares in are Royal Mail and BT. I love travelling and I’m going to Lanzarote this weekend. I also go to the gym regularly and spend time with girls socialising and going for food.

What advice would you give to others looking to get into this industry?

Be organised and be reliable – it’s important for first impressions; you don’t get a second chance. Turn up when you say you are going to and make sure you create a good first impression.

What do you think make you great at your job?

I do my research on the brands I am representing. I am bubbly and enthusiastic and love my job!

What has been your favourite campaign to work on and what was your role?

My favourite campaign has been the Paddy Power activation I worked on for eventeem. I was the Team Leader for this campaign, and it was a great atmosphere. It was great working at the football ground. We were giving out branded merchandise and it always generates a positive response from the public.

What valuable lessons have you learnt whilst working in promotions?

Use a diary! Being organised is important to me as I could be working with one brand one day, and another brand the next. You need to make sure you don’t mess up the key messages between brands.

What do you love about working with eventeem?

The jobs are always great; they are also fun! I did an exciting campaign last year where we handed out popcorn and candy floss at a circus themed event– it was amazing!

eventeem really look after you well and you are always fully briefed before the event and you get great training especially being part of the core automotive teams.
