We put some questions to April…

What has been your favourite/most memorable job to date?

My favourite job with Eventeem has probably been the Eden Sessions at the Eden Project. It’s always a good feeling when you are promoting a client that you really like and being in amongst hundreds of happy people with big smiles on their faces after a good gig is great!

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learnt so far in the promotions and events, and what advice can you give to other staff?

A valuable lesson and advice would be to make sure you work hard, whilst having fun! I think it’s important to do a bit of research on each brand beforehand and always put 100% effort in to each job. Understand each brand’s ethos and what they want. Promotions are a fun and diverse way of working, with better rates of pay than some other jobs, so put the time and effort in to get noticed and work your way up to exciting opportunities!

What are you up to when you are not working on promotional campaigns?

When I’m not working on promotions and events, I’m a marine biologist that specialises in molecular biology and genetics. I also work alongside my partner on our farm in Devon. I’m currently applying to PhDs to hopefully start at the end of the year.

What kind of event or role would you like to try that you have not done yet?

I’ve been working in promotions for some time now so there isn’t a huge amount that I haven’t done, but I really enjoy working festivals and big events that you can travel around the country with, meeting lots of new people and generally having a great time whilst working. I think the best thing about promotions is the wide variety of jobs that you can do, which keeps it interesting.

Finally, how do you find working for eventeem?

I absolutely love Eventeem, you guys have to be one of, if not my favourite agency. You’re always reliable, professional yet really friendly, and always make time for any questions etc. I’m sure all staff would say you make them feel very well looked after and appreciated.
