We put some questions to Jessica…

Jessica, what type of campaign or event do you enjoy most and why?

The type of events I enjoy the most are festivals or expos. Big venues always have a real buzz about them and events such as ‘The Good Food Show‘ and the ‘Ideal Home Show‘ in Manchester always have interesting stalls.

How did your career in events and promotions begin, what is your background?

I started doing promo whilst I was at university as I saw an advert to represent a brand at Thorpe Park. It involved getting placed in a hotel and encouraging people to have fun! I couldn’t believe I was being paid to have so much fun myself too.

I trained as a make-up artist whilst I was studying and started getting promo jobs for that, and then went on to do an MA in acting and promo fitted into that world too.

If you were to give advice to a fellow brand ambassador, what would it be?

If I have any words of wisdom to give to people starting out I would say “don’t be afraid to be yourself and talk to people.” I used to be quite shy about approaching strangers but now I love speaking to anyone and make sure I take the time to listen. It brightens everyone’s day!

What are you up to when you are not working on promotional campaigns?

I still work as an actor and I run my own children’s theatre company, The Bookworm Players. So in between these jobs, promo is perfect for me.

What has been your favourite/most memorable job to date?

My favourite job so far has been working at an automotive event at Hampton Court Palace. I love the palace as it has so much history and is a beautiful place to spend the day.

Finally, how do you find working for eventeem?

Eventeem have really helped me develop my career and confidence in running and managing events. There is always someone at the end of the phone if I need them and I always feel supported and motivated.
