Meet Elinor Jones…

January #eventeemer of the month!

Role: Event Manager

Nearest Cities: Swansea and Cardiff

Chosen For: Her excellent management of our current Education Begins at Home campaign, and for communicating fabulously in both English and Welsh!

As a bilingual event manager, Elinor is always in high demand amongst our public sector clients and local brands in Wales. Her ability to engage with consumers both in English and in Welsh makes her the perfect person to lead our teams of promotional staff on these campaigns.

Elinor is a dedicated worker with a positive attitude, who gets on well with people from all walks of life. She adapts well to different situations and working environments, adjusting her approach accordingly and applying this perspective to staff management also. Elinor is an excellent promotional staff mentor, often spotting and introducing new talent to the industry.

Based in Ammanford near Swansea, Elinor is happy to work nationwide on campaigns, but is managing eventeem activity closer to home this month for Peter’s Pies, and also for the Welsh Government.

We put some questions to Elinor…

Elinor, when did you begin your events career, and what made you choose this industry?

I chose the industry mainly for it’s fun, flexibility and variation.

What type of campaign or event do you enjoy most and why?

Festivals and events definitely. I enjoy meeting people and travelling to different locations with my work.

As a Welsh speaker you are often requested by our Welsh Government clients – on these campaigns what do you find beneficial about being able to be able to communicate with consumers in Welsh? Is it received well?

In Welsh communities many people expect you to be able to speak or at least understand Welsh, especially the older generation, so yes it does come in really handy.

What are you up to when you are not working on promotional campaigns?

I enjoy keeping fit and spending time with my family and friends.

What has been your favourite/most memorable job to date?

I’d say the Ryder Cup 2010 as it was a huge event to have in Wales & it was great to be a part of the hospitality team. I’ve also recently been a part of the Citroen team on World Rally GB which was good fun.

Finally, how do you find working for eventeem?

It’s always a pleasure to work with eventeem. As an agency they are very well organised, responsive and deal with any queries that arise, and they have good payment terms which are always adhered to.
