Mothers’ day feature

13 Mar

With Mothering Sunday fast approaching this weekend we thought it the perfect time to catch up with Myra – eventeem’s invaluable accounts manager, office mum and actual mum to Managing Director, Ceri Gravelle.

At eventeem Myra is responsible for all things finance whether it be the daily book-keeping, collecting payments and processing invoices from our suppliers, and not forgetting the all important monthly event staff pay run.

Myra, you’ve been with eventeem since the very beginning! How has your role developed in that time?

Yes, I started with eventeem in 2009 (although it was actually called Mochito at the time!), initially just helping out with general admin.  But as the business grew, so did my role.  I now manage all aspects of the business accounts and have developed systems to ensure that all staff are paid accurately and on time for all the hard work they do for us.

And what’s it like working alongside your daughter?

For Ceri and I it works really well as we get on great together and share similar views.  It’s been very exciting being part of eventeem over the past few years and I feel very fortunate to have been able to share this with Ceri and watch the business grow.

And outside of work, what do you like to do?

First and foremost I love spending time with family.  Ceri’s brother Aled lives in Warwickshire and we are all so busy that the times when we can all get together are precious.  We also have Ceri’s wedding to look forward to this May which I can’t wait for!

Any advice to help our eventeemers execute the perfect Mothers’ Day?

Nobody knows your mums better than you do so just do what you can to make her smile.  She will love you whatever you do!

Whether you spend it with friends or family, we hope all our eventeemers, clients and friends have a lovely Mothering Sunday.
